Recent Projects
As a composer, my main goal is to create music that resonates with my audience and leaves a lasting impression. Over the years, I have worked on a variety of projects that showcase my diverse range of musical styles. Explore my recent projects below to learn more about my unique approach to composition.
MIDDLE ISLE ENSEMBLE: AUSTERITY MUSIC
Experimental contemporary classical music, Bristol - 2024
Featuring music from postgraduate composers at the University of Bristol, composers performed their own work as part of Bristol’s new Middle Aisle Ensemble. This concert showcases new pieces that creatively respond to the theme of austerity, whether it's re-imagining pre-existing compositions, writing for recycled instruments such as stylophone and retro keyboard, or imposing limitations on their pieces. This event offers an intriguing perspective on composing music in resource-constrained situations.
LITTER
Short film - 2024
On May 22, 2022, a newborn baby was found in a trash bin near a hospital in the Naziābād neighbourhood of Tehran. After people contacted emergency services and went to the scene, the baby was taken to the hospital and received medical care.
The film "Litter" narrates a mixed story of this real event and the writer's imagination.
AIRLESS
Short film - 2023
This film delves into Sartre's existentialist philosophy, examining human anxieties surrounding decision-making and passivity. Sartre argues that individuals are condemned to both commitment and freedom, with commitment arising from abstaining from choice. He emphasizes individual responsibility, challenging conventional notions of morality and cultural norms. Sartre urges individuals to embrace their freedom and accept accountability for their actions.

ART COMES ALIVE
Experimental performance, Bristol - 2023
Art Comes Alive is an experimental experience that combines the worlds of music and live art. Our event showcases artists who visually interpret an original 30-minute composition crafted by a team of composers. The composition follows a narrative given to the audience at the beginning of the show. This narrative is intentionally kept secret from the artists, providing an opportunity to observe their unique interpretations and creative expressions guided solely by the music. Finally, the narrative is revealed at the end, allowing for a comparison between the art and the story.
THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BRIDGE
Documentary - 2023
This documentary is a concise portrayal, predominantly composed of archival footage from the Second World War era.
The filmmaker, Behzad, described his film and its underlying vision as follows:
"The film's primary goal is to shed light on this historical juncture while providing a human-centric perspective. Through this cinematic endeavour, I hope to encourage more understanding and empathy among nations, bridging divides and creating kindness."
TheRang

This performance is divided into two parts. The first part features Hadi Rahmani's piano improvisation, while the second part showcases pieces arranged by Hadi himself, derived from his improvisations for piano, duduk, and percussion. Milad Qoreishi, a percussionist, and Mohamad Moharami, a duduk player, accompany him in this performance.
